Over twenty years ago we discovered, enjoyed and kept returning to the village. In 2002 we created Lower Meadows, to give you the opportunity to share our experience of the village. Over the last 5 years we have modernised and developing Lower Meadows from a none graded establishment into a 4 star bed and breakfast.

The flood was one of those events which happen once in a life time and has been classified  a 1 in 400 year occurrence. We and the village have moved on from 2004 and most have consigned that day to a distant memory. But as with any significant historic and memorable event we are happy to talk about it, if you would like to  understand the flood's impact on us and the village.

Lower Meadows

Lower meadows has been a major provider of accommodation for Boscastle visitors since it was built sometime in the 1970's. Initially as a holiday home and at one time a Hotel with its own restaurant. Expectations have changed over the years, when we moved in, Lower Meadows had fallen behind the times. It now boasts 5 en-suite rooms, private guest lounge, ample guest parking and decor, furnishings and touches to the highest standard.

The flood of 2004 significantly impacted on Lower Meadows, completely destroying our personal accommodation, guest lounge, kitchen and all ground floor areas including our car park and garden. This delayed our completion plans, but we managed to reopen 9 months after the flood and have now completed all the challenges we set ourselves.
